How to measure glove size

We make our gloves in hand sizes from 6 to 8½. To find your glove size, pass a tape measure around the widest part of your hand - usually over your knuckles, excluding the thumb. The result, in inches, is your glove size. If you are between two sizes, round down to the lower.

Here is how you convert from centimetres to inches:

    Glove size Inches Centimetres
    6 6 15.2
    16.5
    7 7 17.8
    19
    8 8 20.3
    21.6

How do I guess someone's glove size?

If you are buying gloves for someone and don't know their glove size (and don't want to ruin the surprise), their height can indicate their most likely glove size. Please note, this is statistically most likely but won't be correct 100% of the time.

    Applies to women only

    Height Most likely glove size
    Under 5'1"
    5'1" to 5'6" 7
    5'7" to 5'8"
    5'9" to 5'11" 8
    Above 6'

‘No more cold hands, ever’. An ambitious aim and one that informs the design of the Cornelia James possum lined ski mitten. Why a mitten? Mittens are warmer than gloves because your fingers are cosily moshed up together in the same space and there is less external surface area allowing naturally generated warmth to escape.

      Dimensions
Wrist Length, 3 BL. This glove measures 3 inches from where the thumb seam meets the wrist to the hem at the top of the glove.

      Pittards WR100X Performance Leather-Cornelia James

      Pittards WR100X Performance Leather

Pittards have been tanning leather in Yeovil, England, since 1826 and have been at the forefront of tanning innovation since then. So when were searching for leather for our ski mittens, it wasn't a hard choice. WR100X Performance Leather is comprised of the highest grade Ethiopian hairsheep (known as "Cabretta") with treatment deeply embedded during the tanning process to make a leather which is durable, water resistant and highly breathable while drying quickly and remaining supple.

      About Possum Fur-Cornelia James

      About Possum Fur

Our mittens are lined with 100% pure New Zealand possum fur. Why possum? In New Zealand the possum is regarded as a pest because there is no natural predation and  the growing possum population is steadily munching its way through the available flora and fauna. The fur of the possum is composed of very fine, very soft strands of hair, each of them hollow, trapping air and providing excellent insulation. This is an attribute that the possum shares with the polar bear. Polar bears don’t feel the cold and nor, in our possum lined mittens, will you
