$190.00

Size

Not sure what size of gloves you need? Please watch our video measuring guide and refer to the size chart below. This will help you capture the most accurate measurements. Our gloves are made to measure, so we want to ensure a perfect fit.

We make our gloves in hand sizes from 6 to 8½. To find your glove size, pass a tape measure around the widest part of your hand - usually over your knuckles, excluding the thumb. The result, in inches, is your glove size. If you are between two sizes, round down to the lower.

Here is how you convert from centimetres to inches:

    Glove size Inches Centimetres
    6 6 15.2
    16.5
    7 7 17.8
    19
    8 8 20.3
    21.6

How do I guess someone's glove size?

If you are buying gloves for someone and don't know their glove size (and don't want to ruin the surprise), their height can indicate their most likely glove size. Please note, this is statistically most likely but won't be correct 100% of the time.

    Applies to women only

    Height Most likely glove size
    Under 5'1"
    5'1" to 5'6" 7
    5'7" to 5'8"
    5'9" to 5'11" 8
    Above 6'

    Upper Arm Fit

For our Opera length gloves, we take a measurement for your upper arm fit to ensure the glove has a correct and flattering fit all the way up your arm. To be clear, the measurement we need is the circumference around your arm at the point where the glove ends - either your bicep or just above the elbow depending on the style of glove.

Please take care with this measurement and give it to us accurately. We really want your gloves to look perfect, and not be too loose or too tight. With your help we can get them just right!

How do I measure my Upper Arm?

Measure from where the thumb crease meets the wrist.

Keeping your arm relaxed, measure up the arm until you reach 16 inches. This is where the glove ends.

Measure the circunference of your arm at this point.

The exact result in inches is your Upper Arm Fit for an Opera Glove. Please round to the nearest 0.25 inches.

    To convert centimetres to inches, divide by 2.54 - e.g. 23cm = 9 inches

My measurement is below 8.5 or above 15.5 inches, what should I do?

We will still be able to work to your specification, but please contact us before ordering.

    Optional Enhancements
    Add Monogram?

    Monogram

Whether it’s for a special occasion or a unique gift, our monogramming service is the perfect, thoughtful addition to your gloves — add up to four letters to personalise your gloves with elegant, gold embroidery.

    • Please always type your monogram in the exact order you would like your letters.
    • The font we use is Goudy Bold.
    • The colour of the thread is gold.
    • The charge for monogramming is £25.
    • We are normally unable to accept returns of monogrammed gloves.
    • Monogramming can be done in Latin characters only.

    Positioning

On short gloves (up to 8 inches), we position the monogram on the underside of the left wrist — just the left hand glove — as in the picture above.

On gloves which are 12 inches and longer, we position the monogram on the inside of the upper arm — again, on the left glove — as in the picture below.

If you'd prefer something different, we can normally accommodate your request — just let us know.

    Monogram - Simple
All the shimmer of satin plus the opportunity to sparkle to the fingertips. Is it Vampish? Is there a hint of the Wicked Queen? Just a little. But the party season is back and this is perfect for Belles of the balls. A full, Opera length sleeve that leaves the fingers exposed. All held in place with a cunning loop around the middle finger and highlighted by a button in your choice of crystal or covered.
    Glove Length: 16 inches

Opera Length. This is a 16 inch glove. This is measured from where the thumb seam meets the wrist, to the opening of the glove.

    Material: Duchess Satin

Our Duchess Satin is a medium weight satin which brims with confidence. It has the glimmer of a fabric which knows how to capture moonbeams. It holds the promise, the allure of enchanted evenings and is guaranteed to unlock the mysteries of romance. We promise. And with just a touch of stretch for added comfort and wearability.

    Swatches

    Care Guide

Satin is a surface. It doesn’t just clothe — it reflects, glides, and catches light with grace. But that sheen is also its vulnerability. Satin doesn’t take well to stress. It doesn’t like twisting, cramming or high heat. What it wants is space, softness, and time.

Handle it like you would something already perfect — because in its best state, it is.

    Let It Glide

Always turn satin inside out before washing, and use a mesh delicates bag. Keep the cycle short and slow. After the wash, lay the gloves flat and reshape while damp. If pulls appear, don’t panic — they often respond to a light scratch from the reverse side to reset the weave.

    Care Method

Wash cold on a gentle cycle with gloves inside out in a mesh bag. Lay flat to dry. Gently realign fibres from the reverse if any pulls occur. Do not tumble dry or press directly.

    For Shape and Surface Clarity

For gloves with sheen loss, persistent creases or decorative trims, we recommend a professional who works with eveningwear textiles to restore both polish and structure.

    Handmade in Sussex, England

The hub of our glovemaking operation is a small, flint walled building that was built some 150 years ago to house dairy cows. All around us are pastures. A mile to the south, the green hills of the South Downs separate us from the salt seas of the English Channel.

It takes a lot to make a good pair of gloves. Great fabrics, selected with great care from mills large and small, skill and people with a passion for making things just right.

Almost everything we make is made to order. So that the person who is making your gloves knows exactly what you want in terms of glove size, style and dimensions.  They will also know your name and you will know theirs because, when they’ve finished your gloves and they’re completely happy with them, they will sign the tag to say so.
