Ski Gloves

Genevieve James, design director at Royal glovemakers Cornelia James, has designed the ultimate ski glove.

"I've been ski-ing since forever - my mother, Cornelia, was Austrian - and I've never found a glove that managed to look good and keep you warm. This one does the job brilliantly. It'll keep you cosy in the couloirs and get points for style when you're ramping it up at the Folie Douce."

The glove - and there is a mitten version too - is a happy marriage of trad and tech. A deerskin outer - tough enough to cope -, a big gauntlet cuff, a breathable, waterproof membrane and a full lining of possum fur. Possum fur, like polar bear fur, is hollow and thus has excellent heat retention properties. Polar bears don't feel the cold and nor, in this glove, will you.
