Size

We make our gloves in hand sizes from 6 to 8½. To find your glove size, pass a tape measure around the widest part of your hand - usually over your knuckles, excluding the thumb. The result, in inches, is your glove size. If you are between two sizes, round down to the lower.

Here is how you convert from centimetres to inches:
Glove size Inches Centimetres
6 6 15.2
16.5
7 7 17.8
19
8 8 20.3

How do I guess someone's glove size?

If you are buying gloves for someone and don't know their glove size (and don't want to ruin the surprise), their height can indicate their most likely glove size. Please note, this is statistically most likely but won't be correct 100% of the time.

Applies to women only

Height Most likely glove size
Under 5'1"
5'1" to 5'6" 7
5'7" to 5'8"
5'9" to 5'11" 8
Above 6'

Upper Arm Fit

For our Opera length gloves, we take a measurement for your upper arm fit to ensure the glove has a correct and flattering fit all the way up your arm. To be clear, the measurement we need is the circumference around your arm at the point where the glove ends - either your bicep or just above the elbow depending on the style of glove.

Please take care with this measurement and give it to us accurately. We really want your gloves to look perfect, and not be too loose or too tight. With your help we can get them just right!

How do I measure my Upper Arm?

Measure from where the thumb crease meets the wrist.

Keeping your arm relaxed, measure up the arm until you reach 16 inches. This is where the glove ends.

Measure the circunference of your arm at this point.

The exact result in inches is your Upper Arm Fit for an Opera Glove. Please round to the nearest 0.25 inches.

To convert centimetres to inches, divide by 2.54 - e.g. 23cm = 9 inches

My measurement is below 8.5 or above 15.5 inches, what should I do?

We will still be able to work to your specification, but please contact us before ordering.

Description
Opera length, leather with mousquetaire. Leather opera gloves are part of the iconography of showbiz and are absolutely of the flavour of the season right now. You might not wear them to pop out to the pub but there could be a moment in everybody’s life when there is a need for long leather gloves. If you’ve got a Big Occasion in the offing, this is the glove. Be prepared.
Material: Ethiopian Cabretta Leather

Ethiopian Cabretta leather, derived from the highland hair sheep of Ethiopia’s pristine plateaus, is revered as the world’s finest glovemaking material. Its unparalleled softness, achieved through the hide’s fine grain and natural suppleness, drapes the hand like a second skin, while its remarkable durability ensures timeless elegance. Expertly tanned using age-old techniques, this leather offers a flawless balance of breathability and grip, making it the choice of connoisseurs for gloves that embody sophistication and precision.

Dimensions

Opera Length. This is a 16 inch glove. This is measured from where the thumb seam meets the wrist, to the opening of the glove.

Leather Care

The more you wear them, the better they look. That’s why leather gloves aren’t just accessories — they’re something personal. They soften with your every movement, remember your shape, and gain character over time. They don’t ask for much, just that you handle them with care, not control.

A mark or a bit of weather isn’t a tragedy — it’s part of the story. But when they need your help, leather gloves respond best to time and restraint. No rubbing, no shortcuts, and certainly no heat.

Let It Breathe

Forget conditioners and quick fixes. To lift a mark, dust on a touch of talcum powder, smooth it with a dry cloth, and leave it be for a couple of days. If your gloves get wet, blot gently, reshape them softly, and let them dry at their own pace — away from the radiator, the sun, or any artificial heat.

Care Method

Apply talcum powder over marks with a dry cloth. Leave for 48 hours, then dust off gently. If wet, blot carefully, reshape, and air dry naturally. Never fold or store while damp.

For Deeper Care

If your gloves become stiff, lose their shape or develop persistent stains, a leather care specialist can restore their structure and surface without compromising their character.
