Changthangi Pashmina goats in Himalayan habitat

Luxury Cashmere from the Himalayas

Our pashmina wool comes from the undercoat of the Changthangi goat, which is native to the Himalayan region of Nepal. These goats, well-adapted to the cold climate, naturally shed their undercoat during the spring moulting season, allowing artisans to collect the precious fibres through gentle combing, ensuring no harm to the animals.

The Story Behind Your Pashmina

A pashmina is a large wrap made of pure cashmere. It is woven from  extremely fine cashmere yarn so that it is both feather light and extremely warm. The classic pashmina is well over 6 feet long and two feet wide but is still fine enough to be pulled through a wedding ring. If it doesn’t pass the ring test, it’s not a true pashmina. It is an extremely warm winter scarf and yet also the perfect wrap for summer evenings. It can be dressed up for formal occasions and be jeans and t shirt casual; a classic piece of versatility and pure style that is never out of place.
