When it becomes darl | Vogue Japan-Cornelia James

Vogue Japan’s July 2014 editorial “When It Becomes Dark,” photographed by Andreas Sjödin and styled by Sabino Pantone, features the Chloe forearm-length Trellis Lace gloves throughout a series of dark, after-hours looks. Shot in deep blacks and sheer layers of tulle, sequins and feathered detail, the story uses the fine, graphic pattern of the lace to trace the arm from wrist to forearm, echoing netted headpieces and sculpted gowns. The gloves bring a precise, modern line to otherwise fluid silhouettes, acting as a quiet, recurring motif that ties the moody, nocturnal story together.
