Here comes the sun

by Genevieve in General News

I dream of an English summer, weddings, croquet, Royal Ascot, sunshine and of course that finishing touch, gloves. Check out our white cotton gloves, on the front cover of L’Officiel Brazil.  The navy/white spot gloves inside make me think of Julia Roberts (remember ‘Pretty Woman’).

A big thank you to Edward Enninful and Jacob K for fabulous images in W Magazine of Tilda Swinton in Cornelia James white cotton gloves.  The front cover is simply amazing and inside we have 8 beautifull pictures of Tilda in our gloves.

Gloves off and knees up

I have just returned from three weeks skiing in Courchevel leading for the Ski Club of Great Britain and had great fun putting people through their paces on the slopes!  Testing weather conditions though and some days we had thick fog; it’s kind of hard to navigate in this.  Still, I always managed to return to base with the same number of skiers than I had in the morning – no mean feat!

Courchevel was a great opportunity for me to try out our new luxury ski glove and mitt. Izzy and Elly were my delightful models and both have given them excellent reviews.  Hope you enjoy this short video: *Genevieve James with the new ski glove and mitt in Courchevel. These were also much admired by a couple of Russian models and would have provided the perfect finishing touch for their outfits (I’m kicking myself for not getting their details!). I now feel encouraged to go forward with these gloves for Winter 2013, and hopefully the Duchess of Cambridge will order a pair for this season! *The Duchess with her Cornelia James wool side bow gloves visiting Dumfries House, as seen in Hello! Magazine.

Sad to say I did not finish my mountain stay on a high and have limped home with my left leg in a brace! All my own fault really as I was lured in by a virgin slope of glistening powder which turned out not to be all it seemed and I fell awkwardly in heavy snow – on the bright side, I was rescued by a helicopter, harnessed and winched up to a rather handsome ski patroller and we abseiled into the clouds. Eat your heart out James Bond!

I’m now back on terra firma at our workshop in Sussex busy designing the new glove for next winter and Oliver our gorgeous black collie is wondering why his walks are taking twice as long as usual!
